You are a proactive individual who can support the Planning Services branch with the collection, organization and maintenance of Provincial, Regional and Municipal Planning legislation, policies and guidelines.

**You have**:

- Completion of a degree in Urban Planning or a related field
- At least one year experience in a professional environment
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI)
- Strong ability to work independently and collaborate with team members on a variety of assigned projects and initiatives
- Possess strong oral, written communication, analytical and problem solving skills

**Nice to have**:

- Knowledge of technical planning software such as ARCGIS or QGIS

**What you will do**:

- Assist with completing due diligence investigations regarding potential development undertakings, including researching planning policies, regulations and guidelines
- Assist with the drafting, preparation and critical review of technical planning reports
- Provide administrative support for projects and initiatives that will improve branch operations
- Monitor the Planning Services general inbox and respond to general inquiries and forwarding specific inquiries to Manager, Planning Services to take appropriate action
- Research and advise planning services branch of amendments to Provincial, Regional and Municipal planning and development legislation, policies and guidelines, including collection and integration of information into data management system
- Support the Planning services branch with the collection, organization and maintenance of Provincial, Regional and Municipal Planning plans and data
- Respond to requests for information from internal stakeholders
- Facilitate relationships with Provincial, Regional and Municipal Planners across the Province in order to attain Municipal Plans, Amendments and development information
