Preventionist

**Shift : Monday to Thursday 9am to 7:30pm**
- General Summary_
- The preventionist's main function is to support managers and workers in the workplace in the identification, correction and control of environmental risks. To do this, he/she will be involved in conducting audits, investigations, accident analyses and risk assessments and will communicate the results to key stakeholders._
- Responsibilities_
- _Plan, coordinate and participate in workplace inspections._
- _Plan, coordinate and participate in OHS audits in the distribution center_
- _Conduct preventive inspection ;_
- _Evaluate the risks present in the environment using a risk matrix;_
- _Coach and actively support supervisors in incident/accident investigations;_
- _Coach and actively support supervisors in the implementation of corrective measures;_
- _Verify compliance with OHS rules and procedures and communicate any deficiencies to key people._
- _Act as awareness agent and intervene when needed;_
- _Produce OHS statistical reports_
- _Analyze the risks of the work environment and recommend prevention programs accordingly;_
- _Participate and lead health and safety committee meetings;_
- _Participate in the update/development of the lockout program, work at height, confined space;_
- _Write and communicate information on work safety and accident prevention to the employee groups concerned;_

**Jobs requirements and key competencies**
- Occupational health and safety certificate or technique
- 3 to 5 years experience in a similar position
- Flexible and available to work outside of regular business hours
- Bilingualism French/English (essential);
- Ability to work in a context of continuous improvement and change;
- Ability to prioritize;
- Communication, negotiation and persuasion skills;
- Organizational skills, rigor and autonomy;
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
