**Volunteer Administrator / Events & Communications Coordinator**

**Principal Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Maintain and update volunteer manuals, policies, and procedures generating appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the agency in conjunction with the Executive Director.
- Provide appropriate support and training for new and current volunteers.
- Attend Volunteer events supporting volunteers.
- recruiting and interviewing volunteers and ensuring they are appropriately security checked, matched, and trained for a position.
- Monitoring, supporting, motivating, and accrediting volunteers and their work through volunteer events, awards etc.
- Oversee the day-to-day postings and interactions of all social media platforms.
- Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms.
- Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, digital and photo content.
- Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments in compliance with agency’ Social Media Policy and policies as overseen by ED.
- Follow, share and re-post partner social media to ensure agency maintains its role as a community resource & collaborator.
- Update website content, posting community events and volunteer opportunities submitted.
- other duties as requested to support agency staff, clients, volunteers, and GCS in accordance with policies.

- Draft and distribute regular Newsletter, e-newsletter and targeted updates to community stakeholder groups using online platforms (e.g., Mail Chimp)
- Coordinate and promote all GCS events: Spring Fundraiser, Golf Tournament, Easter and Christmas, Online Auction, Tree of Angels Program etc.
- Help provide creative direction for photo, digital content, and video filming.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant press and media.
- Develop a framework for events with detailed project timelines, roles and responsibilities, logistics, program structures, and marketing guidelines.
- Support the execution of events, including lead planning and debrief meetings.
- Oversee the creation and execution of printed marketing materials including brochures, annual report, invitations, etc.
- Measure, track, and optimize the effectiveness of communications, analytics, and marketing tools.
- Assisting and supporting internal fund development, fund raising and events
- Time tracking, monitoring, maintaining volunteer database and evaluating programs related directly with volunteers.
- Maintaining and utilizing databases including NESDA for all tracking related to the position.
- Support Program Coordinator with various programs
- Data entry for clients and statistics
- Other duties as requested to support agency staff, clients, and GCS

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:

- Proven knowledge of effective marketing and communications strategies and industry trends
- Excellent verbal, written, public speaking and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage staff, donors, and volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
- Responsive with great follow‐through skills and ability to build trust and maintain constructive relationships.
- Ability to work across different program areas and juggle multiple and simultaneous projects.
- Excellent computer skills, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Office 365, Canva, Publisher, WordPress, Elementor (or similar)
- Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with diverse populations including seniors, low income, and persons with disabilities.
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Certification in Volunteer Administration an asset or willingness to complete.
- Experience in volunteering and recruitment.
- Working knowledge of databases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organization and team-building skills.
- Vehicle required to perform some job duties.
- Must have recent (within one year) vulnerable criminal background check.
