At CBCL Limited, we are a successful, dynamic, growing engineering and environmental consulting firm. We have an exciting opportunity for an **Automation & Controls Specialist** to join our team in our **Halifax** office overlooking the beautiful downtown waterfront.

**Your Key Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to company design standards, details, master specifications, quality and other standards as part of a continuous improvement environment;
- On-site commissioning and start-up of PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems, including communication system(s);
- Develop and/or review control system network architectures using industry standard protocols and topographies, including both ethernet and serial protocols;
- Document development, planning, and/or execution of commissioning and start-up activities;
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**:

- Five (5) plus years of experience in Automation and Controls;
- Eligibility for registration with TechNova or Engineers Nova Scotia;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong attention to detail;
- Experience commissioning control systems and troubleshooting I/O;
- Experience with the following:

- VFD configuration (Allen Bradley, ABB);
- Programming PLCs and RTUs (Allen Bradley, Schneider Electric);
- Programming HMIs (Allen Bradley, FactoryTalk View ME, Schneider Electric, GE, Maple Systems, C-More);
- Programming SCADA (Trihedral VTscada, FactoryTalk View SE & Historian);
- Experience with EtherNet/IP, Modbus (TCP, RTU), DF-1 communication protocols;
- Experience setting up ethernet and serial communication networks, including point-to-multipoint UHF radio, hardwired ethernet & fiberoptic, and cellular;
- Experience with cybersecurity or OSIsoft PI system would be considered an asset;
