Drafting Manager
Position Summary:
The Drafting Technician’s primary responsibility is to ensure the execution of all new product development projects within a timely manner. This position will also complete working drawings, proposal drawings and assist with the “review” stage of the drafting process.
**Responsibilities**:
- Organize and execute all new product development projects in a timely manner
- Provide assistance with the “review” stage of the drafting process
- Complete proposal drawings based on customer specifications & feedback
- Produce full set of working drawings including details and specifications for production
- Compare completed working drawings to work order and order confirmation and follow up on any discrepancies
- Review other team members drawings in a timely manner
- Review, revise and understand mistakes made on initial drawing
- Design & create new floor plans, concepts and products
- Communicate in a professional and respectful manner at all times
- Adhere to all Northlander Industries policies and procedures
- Adhere to the Ontario Health and Safety Act
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to work both independently and as a team
- Excellent organizational skills & strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of building products, finish materials, residential construction and Ontario Building Code
Education, Licenses & Experience
- Post secondary education in Architectural Technology or equivalent skills and experience
- Previous experience using AutoCAD for residential housing
Working Conditions
- Office setting with some time spent on the production line
- 40 hours/week with overtime as necessary
