**Objective**:

**Summary**:
The Metrology Technician is responsible for direct measurement and examination of product to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications. Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the Metrology Technician is responsible for strictly adhering to the organization’s quality assurance policies and identifying defects and or production errors in order to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain. Other duties maybe assigned as necessary. This is a critical position within the company and presents a great opportunity for someone to provide final assurance to all our valued customers that their products are being provided with the highest level of quality possible.

**Job Duties**:
- Able to create CMM Programs using Mitutoyo MCOSMOS and MiCAT software.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections, as well as testing, of various stamped metal parts.
- Document/discuss unacceptable or nonconforming materials from production inspection and issue corrective action.
- Support new product development, PPAP, engineering layout changes and annual revalidations.
- Assist with the Company’s quality monitoring programs and documentation, including supplier quality, audits, controls, and other qualifiers.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation standards.
**Job Requirements**:
- Post secondary Education in an appropriate field.
- Minimum 3 years of comprehensive experience with CMM/ Mitutoyo MCOSMOS and MiCAT - both operating and programming.
- Minimum 3 years of direct work experience with quality systems, regulations, guidelines, and associated standards.
- Experience dealing with high tolerance parts on various metrology equipment such as CMM, Shadowgraph, Keyence profiler, Contour tracer, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and must be able to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
- Excellent communication skills to be able to communicate technically in a clear and effective manner with Quality engineers, toolroom and production personnel.
- Knowledgeable about TS16949, IATF registered organization.
- Practical experience with product testing, capability studies, and control plans.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma techniques and Lean manufacturing are desirable.
- Initiative-taking individual who is capable of self-directing and multi-tasking, and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Adequate working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
**Working Conditions**:
- Manual dexterity is required to use measuring equipment, desktop computer and peripherals.
- Must be able to work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely manner.
- Canidate must be capable of multi-tasking and able to handle situations as they arise and do so in a professional manner.
- Overtime and Shift work as required.
