The Accounting Clerk is responsible for various duties within the Finance Department to ensure Bruce Telecom has accurate and reliable financial data and reporting. This role is also responsible for providing support to all other departments within the company regarding data, and financial needs.

**Reports to**:Finance Manager

**Responsibilities**

1. Processing of miscellaneous receivable invoices and settlements.

2. Reconcile and balance miscellaneous receivable accounts.

3. Collaborate with Finance Team regarding month-end and year-end procedures including, but not limited to: reconciliation of various general ledger accounts, reconciliation of bank accounts, and reconciliation of accounts receivables and bad debts.

4. Reconcile payments received from the credit bureau.

5. Refund customer security deposits

6. Consultation and processing of ‘Cable Cuts’ when required. Involves interaction with multiple departments to gather necessary details and information to correctly invoice.

7. Process and enter Accounts Payable invoices for payment.

8. Responsible for ongoing review and follow up of outstanding return material authorizations (RMA). Provide status updates to impacted departments if applicable.

9. Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements.

10. Enter accruals.

11. Compile and provide monthly report on Bruce Telecom corporate cellular invoice.

12. Acting back-up for Accounts Receivable Clerk.

13. Liaise with internal and external clients on a variety of items necessary to meet business needs.

14. Participate in the annual physical inventory count as required to complete the counts on time.

15. Provide back up support for other positions in the Finance Team as required.

16. Responsible for providing guidance and training for other team members as required.

17. Required to analyze existing processes, procedures and accounting controls to look for areas of improvement and increased efficiency. Communicate suggestions to appropriate management.

18. Complete other duties as assigned as required to meet business needs.

**Minimum Academic/Educational Requirements**:
Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting

Applicants currently working towards a diploma in Business Administration may also be considered

3 Years of Experience in a similar accounting role

**Qualifications and Skills**:

Ability to set and manage priorities

Well-developed communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently

Detail oriented

**Hours of Work**:
40 Hours per Week

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

- Tiverton, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Accounting: 3 years (preferred)
