**About This Opportunity**:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Brampton Distribution Centre Manager (DCM) will be responsible for all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving for the Greater Toronto Area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced operations professional to manage a large-scale supply chain operation, lead continuous improvement, and implement organizational development initiatives
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee delivery, fleet, equipment service and warehouse functions for a 630,000 sq. ft. warehouse with storage capacity of 2.5 million cases and annual shipping volume of 30+ million cases.
- Manage and develop 5 direct management reports and 550+ indirect unionized employees to deliver world class customer service and achieve annual business goals.
- Establish and track progress against annual performance targets such as Engineered Labour Standards (ELS), On Time/In Full (OTIF) deliveries, and Cost Per Case inputs and implement corrective actions as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders within the facility including Production, Inter Plant Transportation (IPT), Dispatch, and Sales.
- Collaborate with union leaders to develop and implement short and long-term operational strategies.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to support long term growth strategies including labour planning, staffing, and capital requirements.
- Ensure all regulatory compliance standards are achieved.
- Drive accountability for adherence to all facility policies and prioritize employee safety
- Contribute to our growth culture by ensuring all department leaders are driving engagement across their teams while supporting local and national initiatives.
- Identify, plan, and lead the execution of optimization initiatives working with key stakeholders, vendors and senior leaders and act as a change agent with employees to ensure successful implementation.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 5 years previous management experience in a large-scale unionized operation with demonstrated ownership for a breadth of supply chain disciplines
- Completed Post-secondary education preferably in Engineering or Logistics and Supply Chain or equivalent work experience
- Strong influencing and people management skills
- Experience leading large teams through transformational change
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with union leaders and fostering positive working relationships
- Ability to direct and influence a large and unionized workforce through a team of managers while maintaining a positive work environment
- Business acumen and solid presentation skills for multiple audiences from front line staff to senior and executive leaders
- Comprehensive understanding of Ontario occupational health & safety, labour, and employment standards to ensure regulatory compliance
- Experience tracking and reporting operational metrics
- Continuous improvement and/or Lean Six Sigma would be an asset
