The Intake Screener - After Hours is the initial point of contact for the entire agency and reports directly to the Direct Service Supervisor - After Hours - Intake Screener and will be on-call after regular work hours (4:30pm - 8:30am weekdays, and 24-hours weekends and holidays), to respond to emergency after hours services. The on-call shift rotation will be 4-days on and 4-days off.

After Hours Intake Screeners will receive and process information reported to the agency to the appropriate department.

- High School diploma and some past secondary education is preferred.
- Knowledge of Child, Youth and Family Services Act.
- Knowledge of Child Protection Standards and tools in Ontario.
- Excellent Computer and keyboarding skills.
- Good analytical skills to review documents and check forms.
- Be aware of the cultural environment of Tikinagan Child and Family Services operates.
- Ability to speak one of the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation dialects is considered an asset.
- Must be able to show initiative and work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.

**DUTIES AND RESPONIBILITIES**

- Intake Screener - After Hours will take referrals over the phone, via fax, or in person and make sure they are entered and distributed to Supervisors and Workers within 24 hours of receiving.
- Work and consult with Direct Service Supervisor - After Hours - Intake Screener on referrals for proper coding.
- Ensure that all requirements of Child Protection Standards of Ontario are met with regards to referrals as required in Intake.
- Ensure that all case documentation meets agency policies and provincial standards and to ensure that case notes are entered or sent to Data Entry.
- Become familiar with all MCSS Standards and guidelines.
- Complete Records Checks as assigned by Supervisor.
- Photocopying, faxing, filing and other related duties as assigned.
