**Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Analysis and presentation of technical information and reports
- Manage stream restoration and erosion protection projects
- Undertake corridor and crossing studies to identify risks from natural hazards
- Lead all aspects of field data collection exercises, including data synthesis
- Work with various forms of spatial information, including digital topographic data and aerial imagery
- Supervise the completion of monitoring studies
- Supervise and mentor junior staff
- Coordinate construction implementation of channel restoration designs
- Travel as required for various field programs
**Skills, Proficiencies, and Qualifications**:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a Physical Geography, Geomorphology, River Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, or equivalent education
- Minimum of 5 years related experience
- Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) accreditation in Geomorphology or Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license in the Province of Ontario is preferred
- Proven scientific skills in a range of areas including field data collection, river mechanics, sediment transport, geomorphic processes, and hydraulics
- Experience in related aspects of water resources including environmental geoscience, biogeography, aquatic and ecological sciences
- Experience in geomatics, air photo interpretation/manipulation, and field surveys (total station, RTK)
- Strong communication skills with a proven track record of presenting clearly, and promoting understanding through effective verbal, written, and listening skills
- Possess strong digital literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- AutoCAD or hydraulic model software experience would be an asset
- Valid G driver’s license
