Job Description: Wood Gunstock Worker

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Wood Gunstock Worker to join our team. As a Wood Gunstock Worker, you will play a vital role in crafting gunstocks from various types of wood while also contributing to research and development (R&D) initiatives for new products. Additionally, you will have opportunities to work on furniture making projects and utilize CNC machinery. This position requires a combination of woodworking skills, technical knowledge, innovation, and a passion for firearms and woodworking.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Gunstock Crafting:

- Utilize woodworking tools and equipment to shape gunstocks according to design specifications and customer requirements.
- Select suitable wood materials for gunstock production, considering quality, aesthetics, and durability.
- Incorporate precision measurements and utilize templates to ensure accurate stock dimensions and proper inletting.

2. Research and Development (R&D):

- Collaborate with the R&D team to develop and refine new gunstock designs, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
- Conduct experiments, tests, and evaluations to assess the performance and functionality of prototypes.
- Provide feedback and insights to improve the design, ergonomics, and overall quality of gunstocks.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in gunstock production.

3. Furniture Making:

- Utilize your woodworking skills to contribute to furniture making projects as needed.
- Create custom furniture pieces, such as rifle display cases or gun cabinets, incorporating artistic and functional elements.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their specific furniture requirements and deliver high-quality finished products.

4. CNC Work:

- Operate and program CNC machinery for the production of gunstocks and furniture components.
- Collaborate with the CNC team to optimize processes, create efficient toolpaths, and ensure accurate and consistent results.
- Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

5. Quality Assurance:

- Conduct thorough inspections of completed gunstocks, furniture pieces, and CNC-machined components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and address any defects, imperfections, or deviations from requirements.
- Make necessary adjustments or repairs to maintain high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to implement quality improvement initiatives.

6. Documentation and Record Keeping:

- Maintain accurate records of materials used, production processes, specifications, and experimental data.
- Document any design modifications, R&D findings, and customer-specific requests.
- Create detailed reports or logs to track production progress, research outcomes, and record any issues or concerns.

7. Safety and Maintenance:

- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance on woodworking tools, CNC machinery, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.

**Qualifications**:
1. Experience:

- Proven experience as a Wood Gunstock Worker or similar woodworking role, preferably in the firearms industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in crafting gunstocks, utilizing woodworking techniques, and working with various wood types.
- Experience in R&D projects and familiarity with product development processes.

2. Woodworking Skills:

- Proficiency in using a wide range of woodworking tools, hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Knowledge of advanced woodworking techniques such as carving, checkering, inletting, and finishing.

3. CNC Proficiency:

- Experience operating and programming CNC machinery, including knowledge of CAD/CAM software

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
