**Duration**:12 month contract (maternity leave)

**Hours**: 35 hours per week

**Location**: Office located in Peterborough, ON (hybrid work environment available)

**Rate of Pay**: To be determined

**Number of Positions**: 1

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supervise digital freelance writers (e.g. assigning articles, settings deadlines, editing, and managing timelines) web developer and Canada Summer Jobs applicant;
- Project manage all aspects of digital platforms including updates and migrations to new systems;
- Write, edit, and produce news and stories for print and online;
- Promote brand content through social media posting on all leading platforms
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in all online _OOD_content;
- Monitor, analyze, and report on visitor engagement (analytics) for the website, e-newsletter, social media platforms, digital magazine, forum, etc.;
- Execute and manage online _OOD_ contests, giveaways, and surveys (both editorial and sales-based);
- Convert and optimize print magazine to digital version, both desktop and apps;
- Create and deploy bi-monthly e-newsletter; and
- Aid in the pursuit of ad sales by providing metrics and Sponsored Content opportunities for possible advertisers.

**Education and Qualifications**:

- College or university education in journalism, communications, English, or equivalent work-related experience in relevant fields; and
- Four years of experience as an intermediate level editor with an online magazine would be an asset.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Excellent computer skills with Windows and Mac platforms;
- Competence in WordPress, Mailchimp, Photoshop, Google Analytics, Microsoft Office (including Teams), Slack, YouTube Creator Studio, Facebook and YouTube Creator Studio ;
- Social media administration and knowledge of best practises (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest);
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Interpersonal skills and leadership;
- Problem-solving skills;
- Time management and organizational skills;
- Knowledgeable with national and European Union privacy regulations, Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and EU Greater Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); and
- Understanding of the following would be an asset Edition Digital, Ninja Forms, Hootsuite, Flickr, SoundCloud, AdSense, App Store Connect, Google Play Console.

**Other Requirements**:

- Valid driver’s licence (class G);
- Valid passport;
- Valid fishing licence;
- Valid outdoors card with accredited hunter;
- Valid firearms licence;
- Valid pleasure craft operators card;
- Valid criminal record check; and
- Valid OFAH membership
