**Position Summary**:To assist with the flow order food orders from kitchen to dining room. Some food preparation.
**Confidentiality**:Maintain the confidentiality of information relating to residents, families, colleagues, the home's operations, financial arrangements and results.
**Bonding**:Required
**Hours of Work**:As assigned by the posted shift schedule, every other weekend, and statutory Holidays. Start time is 11:00 a.m. until 7:00pm.; Prep Cook hours 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
**Experience**:Relevant restaurant experience an asset
**Dress Code**:Pair of enclosed non-slip shoes and black pants (no jeans). A top will be provided. Minimal jewelry. Long hair must be tied back. Nametag to be worn at all times (nametag will be supplied).
**Certification**:
Valid and current Food Handlers Certificate is required - to be updated as needed; company will train
**Education**:
- Minimum high school education
- The ability to read, write and comfortably communicate in English
- Must understand oral and written instructions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Valid Food Handler’s Certificate is required (will train)

- Good health and proper and clean grooming
- No allergies to food and cleaning chemicals

- **Duties**:
- Ensuring good communication in kitchen to facilitate food flow during meals
- Food preparation as outlined by FSM and dietary restrictions of residents
- Setting up of food line with daily choices and condiments required
- Plating, serving of lunch and dinner to residents
- Ensuring all food orders are inspected for presentation and temperature
- Assisting in the dish pit when necessary; helping to maintain a clean kitchen
- Interacting with residents before, during and after meal service to gauge resident satisfaction
- Cleaning up the food line and prep areas after each meal service including utensils/pots and pans
- Supervising the dietary team members to ensure proper dining room & café setup, pre pour and cleanliness
- Monthly food and supplies inventory
- Adhering to sanitary and infection control procedures
- Food handling, defrosting and storage
- Correct labelling and storage of food items
- Participate in fire drills, staff meetings, and training
- Any other related duties as assigned by supervisor or Administrator
**Kitchen Dietary must have knowledge of and are expected to use correctly**:
- lifting techniques
- serving techniques
- busing and cleanup techniques
- sanitary and infection control procedures
- disinfecting, cleaning techniques
- hand washing techniques
- residents' dietary and portion requirements
- food handling, storage and defrosting
- name and location of each resident in the dining room
- proper use, cleaning and chemical requirements of the dishwashing equipment
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $17.25 per hour
