Headquartered in Etobicoke, ON, Starline Production Rentals Inc. was founded in 2000 and has grown steadily through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth. Our resources include a fleet of over 850 specialized trucks and trailers to service the dynamic film and television industry. Supplying custom built vehicles to accommodate actors, hair and make-up, cameras, rigging, wardrobe and more require ongoing repair and maintenance.

We are currently seeking an experienced **Generator Maintenance Trainee **to join our growing operation. This position supports the Mobile Generators division of our business with a variety of duties such as shop clean up, inventory, oil changes, maintenance, service calls, testing and client service. The requirements of this position will grow with time and exposure as well as hands-on training. The role of Generator Maintenance Trainee is a connective piece within the department to ensure the flow of business needs are maintained with quality, efficiency, safety and team work. This is a growing arm of our business that will provide a great deal of leaning and opportunity within the organization.

**Qualifications & Responsibilities**:

- Self-motivated, excited to learn from others
- Experience working with diesel and oil
- Competency and experience working with hand tools
- Experience and a good understanding working in a construction/service environment
- Conducts self in a professional manner with internal team members and customers
- Solid communication skills; ask questions, communicate feedback to superiors
- Working alongside and maintain necessary communication with fellow colleagues, superiors, third party contractors and other onsite interdepartmental employees
- Be a true leader and ambassador of health, safety and compliance in the workplace
- Participate in additional training to improve skills and continue to develop generator skill set
- Eager to work additional hours and train to make service calls
- Work well taking direction and feedback

**Skill & Ability Requirements**:

- **Critical Thinking - **Methodically and strategically approaching problems and tasks and making quick decisions to solve challenges
- **Problem Solving -** The ability to notice problems and the root causes early, produce a plan to correct the issue found. Efficient use of time and resources to implement the pre thought out plan
- **Attention to Detail **—**The ability to spot details at close and far range, noticing settings, operations, and site conditions that are different than the norm and adjust accordingly
- **Troubleshooting** — Determining root causes of operating errors and device failures, reasoning a corrective action and implementing a plan to accomplish the goal
- **Comprehension — **The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, understanding diagrams, drawings, manuals, and device instructions

**Experience & Working Conditions**:

- Grade 12 high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid G drivers license, clean abstract must be provided
- Experience working with diesel and oil
- Available to work a min of 40 hours per week, flexible schedule, interest in overtime opportunities
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
