Position Summary:
Under the Manager of Operations, the Simulation Trainer plays an essential role in the management of the SIM Centre’s High Fidelity Simulation

Room and in teaching programs involving human patient simulators. The Trainer plans, programs, tests and runs simulation scenarios.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, implement, test and ensure maintenance of simulation scenarios and software with the Faculty prior to the learning activity.- Responsible for managing the daily operations of the High Fidelity Simulation Room.- Supervise the simulation scenarios on the human patient simulators during the teaching and learning sessions.- Provide instructional demonstrations on the use of the Simulation Centre’s mannequins, task trainers and other virtual reality simulators to lecturers and students.- Supervise medical residents during their electives in medical education and simulation, and Faculty and medical residents conducting research projects at the Simulation Centre.- Prepare the physical environment for the simulation sessions with the assistance of the course technicians. Plans and sets up for all of the scenarios and advanced courses i.e. NRP, PALS and ACLS. Evaluates the effectiveness of the simulation scenarios.- Analyze and determine root causes of failures if applicable and propose solutions to Faculty if enhancements are required.- Maintain the functionality of the mannequins, (high fidelity, SimMan, SimBaby and 3G and low fidelity ALS adult and child and Megacode Kelly) and the airway task trainers.- Provide consulting expertise and assistance concerning the appropriate use of equipment and technology for teaching sessions. Responsible for the inventory of supplies required for the teaching sessions in the High Fidelity Simulation Room, and all levels of Airway Management.- Represent unit in meetings regarding the development of simulation scenarios for electives in medical education and with any Faculty member interested in using mannequin based simulation in their courses.- Keep abreast of new developments in the field of simulation. Update skills and knowledge. Attend workshops on advanced programming and upgrades to simulation software.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
Demonstrated clinical experience in a hospital or simulation environment. Demonstrated experience with combination of technical and functional

aspects of simulation technology and equipment. Proven experience facilitating and teaching. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and

professionally with students, residents, colleagues and academic staff. Must be client-focused and service-oriented. Strong organizational, planning

Annual Salary:

(MPEX Grade 04) $58,470.00 - $73,090.00 - $87,710.00
