The Carpenter performs work including constructing, maintaining and repairing building structures and facilities as well as installation, maintenance, repair and construction projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Comply with and effectively implement Urban One’s Safety Program to ensure safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded
- Takes direction from Superintendents and Foreman on projects
- Ability to Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Accurately build concrete forms, scaffolding, hoarding, shelters, and other structures
- Foresight to stay ahead of the trades where needed (i.e. floor/area cleanup, guard rails, lighting)
- Other duties as assigned daily for project progress
- Reports to the Superintendent any problems or unforeseen issues that could affect the project plan

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- 3+ years related work experience or a combination of relevant education and experience
- Red Seal Certification an asset
- Experience in high-rise residential/mixed-use construction considered an asset
- OFA 2, OFA 3 an asset
- Self-driven and maintain a positive attitude
