Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, this position is accountable for the provision of data control and clerical accounting support within the Corporate Services Department. Duties of this position include: maintaining accurate records by reconciling all accounts and posting transactions to the financial system in a timely manner; compiling financial information for internal reports, annual external audits, and various claims; providing cashier and accounts receivable services by accepting payments and issuing accurate receipts for these payments; providing accounts payable services by processing supplier invoices/credits, payment requisitions, travel claims and refunds; performing primary duties relating to the maintenance of the assessment roll by following established practices, procedures and specific instructions; and processing payroll and benefits in compliance with the current collective agreement.

**Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of a high school diploma, supplemented by a three (3) year post-secondary diploma program in business, accounting or a related field;
- Two (2) years' experience in an accounting environment with responsibility for similar duties;
- Detailed knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel;
- Detailed knowledge and experience of accounting ERP software (Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or TownSuite would be considered an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to deal with the public with tact and diplomacy;
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and
- Demonstrate a high level of organizational and problem-solving skills.
