**Responsibilities**:
The Paint Stripper follows a set of procedures to strip paint from walls and ceilings in heritage buildings while controlling the release of, or removing, asbestos fibers from asbestos-containing materials. Pay and benefits will be paid in line with the Local 200 IUPAT Collective Agreement.
- Install and erect containment and decontamination systems.
- Demolish, remove, and dispose of a variety of building products.
- Assemble and disassemble scaffolding.
- Work on ladders, scaffolding and/or articulated and scissor lifts.
- Clean company equipment and clean the work site.
- Remove and package hazardous materials.
- Comply with prescribed safety procedures and regulations.
- Follow safe work practices and report safety issues.
**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Be or become a member of the Local 200 International Union of Painters and Allied Trades
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Possess good English language skills
- Ability to wear a respirator and coveralls up to 8 hours per day.
- Able to follow instructions and work independently, as well as on a team
- Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (Occupational Health and Safety)
- Must be reliable, punctual, highly organized
- Can lift, carry, move up to 26kg/57lbs without assistance and up to 34kg/75lbs with assistance.
- Must have the strength to work overhead for extended periods of time.
- Must have completed the Working at Heights, WHMIS and Lead Awareness training programs.
- Must be in possession of security clearance (Reliability).
