**JUNIOR BUSINESS ANALYST**

Reporting to the CFO, our Quarry Park location in southeast Calgary, is seeking a Junior Business Analyst responsible for providing detailed business analysis support by working at all levels in the organization. The successful individual will individually, and at times part of a team, provide insight into aspects of the business needing analysis, will design and carry out analysis, and will present results and options/recommendations to improve the overall business. In addition, the Junior Business Analyst will schedule accounting activities including translating commercial and business activities into “accounting” results.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Consult with the business to identify initiatives to carry forward, assess their feasibility, and build cases for value demonstration
- Develop and document moderate to highly complex business systems or projects using analysis techniques to simplify into coherent requirements
- Asses the implications and feasibility of business change, mapping business processes, and document activities/further areas of study needed to implement meaningful change
- Develop deep understanding across the business and overall strategy to be able to assist across the value chain
- Help to ensure business projects have SMART goals and identify/design ways to keep goals relevant and valuable
- Complete execution, coding, and monitoring of accounts payable systems and processes
- Complete financial uploads, interfaces, journals, and cost allocations
- Complete accounting processes and support the Finance and Operational team
- Serve as back-up support for assigned finance processes

**KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:
**Essential**
- Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
- Excellent problem solving
- Ability to prioritize workloads and succeed in a high-pressure environment
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
- Able to work as a part of a team
- Agreeable to flexible working hours
- Planning capabilities
- Strong and professional work ethic

**Desirable**
- Experience designing/understanding processes

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Degree, preferably in Commerce, Economics or Agriculture
