**Position Description**:
**Clinical Research Project Assistant**

The Clinical Research Project Assistant (CRPA) will work in the SickKids Hospital Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Centre. Within the Centre, clinical care is provided to over 1200 children and adolescents with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and closely integrated with research.

CAMEO (Clinical, endoscopic, and imaging outcomes of children newly diagnosed with Crohn's disease) is a collaborative study being performed at 26 leading pediatric inflammatory bowel disease centers in the United States and Canada. The purpose of CAMEO is to help us understand why some children with Crohn's disease (CD) treated with a common form of therapy (anti-TNF biologics) heal their intestine and others do not.

The Canadian Children Inflammatory Bowel Disease Network (CIDsCANN), led through the Sickkids IBD Centre, involves 12 paediatric IBD academic centres across Canada. CIDsCANN conducts patient-based and translational research to understand why Crohn's disease and chronic ulcerative colitis are increasing among children living in Canada, and to define the best therapies for subgroups of patients. Current initiatives include recruitment with pre-treatment biospecimens of a cohort of children with recent onset active luminal Crohn's disease in order to prospectively compare outcomes with two classes of monoclonal antibodies as first biologic therapy (AMBITION-CD).

The CRPA will assist in the conduct of both CIDsCaNN and CAMEO at SickKids.

The CRPA will be supervised by the Principal Investigator (Dr. Thomas Walters) and the IBD Centre Program Manager (Hayley McKay, MSc), who also oversees national implementation of AMBITION-CD.

**Here's What You'll Get To Do**:

- Work closely with an energetic team of physicians, clinical nurses, research coordinators and colleagues at SickKids, across Canada (in the CIDsCANN network), and the US (in the CAMEO study).
