**Your Role**: As the Stage Carpenter - Department Head, you'll be responsible for all aspects of the Centre’s staging operations. You’ll lead the stage department and work closely with our Head Audio Technician and Stage Lighting Technician to bring shows to life with precision and professionalism. From constructing and painting sets to ensuring seamless stage management, you’ll have a direct impact on the magic our audiences experience.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- _**Schedule and manage**_ the staging team, maximizing efficiencies and coordinating part-time staffing.
- _**Collaborate with the Head Audio Technician and Stage Lighting Technician**_, ensuring cohesive support across all technical areas.
- _**Staff and coordinate show calls**_, ensuring that each production has the necessary crew for set changes, scenery movement, and other staging needs.
- _**Organize and delegate tasks**_ for set construction, scenery movement, and set striking.
- _**Maintain and oversee the operation**_ of all staging equipment within the staging department and coordinate with other departments to keep all equipment in optimal condition.

**Who are you?**
- You should have significant experience and knowledge in Theatrical/Stage Carpentry and comprehensive knowledge of OH&S standards, rigging, fly systems and stage procedures.
- You’re a proactive leader with strong problem-solving skills, capable of handling scheduling, coordination, and in-depth analysis.
- You have experience overseeing stage departments, excelling at team supervision and scheduling.
- You’re an effective communicator who can collaborate with other departments and explain technical terms clearly.
- You’re physically capable, able to lift and handle equipment, and comfortable in noisy environments.

**Physical Demands**: This hands-on role requires physical stamina and agility. You’ll be lifting heavy equipment, navigating through the backstage setup, and working in environments with sustained noise. Creativity is essential as you’ll often be called upon to develop custom solutions for our clients.

**Leadership & Customer Service**: As the Stage Carpenter - Department Head, you’ll play a vital role in creating seamless performances. You’ll coordinate and review the work of your team, maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency. Your customer service skills will ensure you build strong client relationships, exceeding expectations for every production.
