James Dick Construction is seeking a skilled and experienced **Skid Steer Operator ** to join our team at the **Glenchristie** **Quarry** in **Ontario**. As a Skid Steer Operator, you will play a vital role in our quarry operations by operating and maintaining skid steer loaders to move materials, perform various tasks, and support our overall production activities efficiently and safely. **Responsibilities**:
- Operate skid steer loaders to perform tasks such as loading and unloading materials, grading surfaces, clearing debris, and assisting in the movement of equipment and materials.
- Safely and efficiently maneuver the skid steer in tight spaces, around obstacles, and on uneven terrain.
- Perform routine pre-start checks and regular maintenance on the skid steer loader to ensure its proper functioning and identify any issues or required repairs.
- Collaborate with other team members to optimize workflow, prioritize tasks, and meet production targets.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring proper distribution and secure placement of materials.
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct visual inspections of work areas to identify and report any hazards or potential risks.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient task coordination.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating skid steer loaders, preferably in a quarry or construction environment.
- Possess a reliable vehicle to commute to the site.
- Ability to work outside all seasons, including winter.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and the ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with quarry personnel and other team members.
