MacEwan University is seeking an individual for a full-time continuing opportunity as Financial Analyst with the Dean’s Office in the School of Continuing Education.

This position replaces the Finance and Administration Coordinator position within the School. The primary purpose is to manage the cost recovery and base budget accounts within the School including revenue generating units such as the Conservatory of Music, SCE International and Professional and Continuing Studies as well as government grants (Foundation Learning Grant).

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Reviewing and analyzing financial results, preparing, and reviewing reports with budget holders, regularly verifying account balances and investigating discrepancies.
- Developing financial projections and variance analyses, quarterly and otherwise as requested.
- Providing training and assistance to all Faculty and Staff members in completing PeopleSoft purchase requisitions, corporate credit card reconciliations and other expense claims, and preparing paper-based claims for guests of the School/Faculty/Division.
- Primary resource for all Faculty and Staff members for information on financial policies and procedures.
- Developing and documenting processes that support efficient transaction flow, appropriate internal control, and compliance with university financial policy, procedures, and timelines, including authorization of expenditures, coding and other documentation as necessary.
- Preparing and ensuring the accurate and timely submission of various transactions including funds transfers, other journal entries, purchase requisitions, expense claims, cheque requisitions and billings as necessary.
- Serving as capital asset manager for the School/Faculty/Division; reviewing requirements with programs and assisting with procurement; reviewing capital asset records in PeopleSoft for accuracy and participating in asset counts when required.
- Acting as the contact for computer refresh cycles; maintaining records of computer status, reconciling centralized computer status data with the record, and resolving discrepancies.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum of a diploma in business, finance or accounting with some undergraduate degree coursework leading to a professional accounting designation.
- Minimum of five years of related experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
- Equivalences may be considered.
