Technical Fleet Specialist

Key Responsibilities
Communicate and educate supervisors on the proper operation and equipment maintenance of all units with the yard. Explaining how the functionalities work and understanding all pertinent steps for safe operation and proper use of equipment.
During reports of technical issues - provide step by step ways to troubleshoot issues and provide backup solutions when available and necessary.
Assisting the maintenance team when necessary.
Provide training sessions on new equipment.
Post incident assistance - visit scene and work through the process with the operator to determine root cause - technical failure of equipment and providing ideas and solutions to eliminate risk-user error then circle back to training.
Liaise with maintenance team to provide safe operation or modifications required/suggested for safe use and fall-safes on equipment to eliminate risks and find solutions to complex issues that may arise in changing job site conditions.

Experience, Qualifications & EducationDZ or AZ licence
Minimum 5 years’ experience on various tyles of equipment used at GFL ie Hydrovac, Vacuum truck, box truck, roll off, tanker (Vac/Bulk), Vacuum equipment experience essential, but not limited to.
Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting in various types of equipment, again Vacuum trucks blower/vein pump essential. Hydraulic systems and water systems also essential
