**Counsellor/Facilitator**

Sagkeeng First Nation - Fort Alexander, MB

Mikaaming Mino Pimatiziwin Healing Lodge Inc. (MMPHL) Day Program is an out-patient

addictions treatment program. We offer a four-week traditional and holistic program for

Sagkeeng First Nation members who are struggling to overcome drug and alcohol addictions.

MMPHL Day Program is currently seeking a Counsellor/Facilitator to provide quality sessions

and individual or group counselling.

**General Duties**:
The ideal person will be responsible for facilitating sessions, providing individual counselling

and case management of participants. This individual will also be required to provide

supervision and training to program staff. Planning and development of program content, and

yearly calendar.

**Qualifications: **

Graduated from a recognized college or university with a Bachelors Degree of

Social Work, Psychology, Sociology and/or addictions, preferably within the

counselling service sector** or any combination of training and experience**

**which provides the required knowledge, ability and skills. **

Work experience in a clinical setting or residential treatment.

Experience working with groups in a group therapy setting.

Supervisory experience is preferred.

Knowledge of traditional and contemporary healing practices.

Excellent communication and writing skills.

Ability to exercise sound effective judgement in working with participants and with staff.

Must be capable of delivering public education.

Must be able to provide professional reports.

Must be able to utilize various computer programs.

Must be able to show how you lead a healthy lifestyle.
