**HOURS OF WORK**:7:00AM - 4:00PM, 40 hours per week**
**SALARY**:$36.07 per hour (2021 rates) **plus comprehensive benefits package**

**If you have the following characteristics and attributes, we want to meet you**
- Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by formal training and/or completion of an arboricultural apprenticeship program.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a variety of arboricultural work (i.e. tree worker or utility arborist).
- An Arborist certification (International Society of Arboriculture) and Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ).
- Can work independently, as well as in a team environment.
- Has superior public relations, interpersonal, communication, organizational, multi-tasking and leadership skills.
- Has comprehensive knowledge and experience relating to best practices used in tree planting, pruning, removing, relocating, and climbing trees; and can assist in identifying and monitoring tree pests, diseases, and potential hazards.
- Has knowledge of tree biology, species, varieties, and related growth and cultural requirements for healthy tree specimens.
- Is proficient in safe tree climbing techniques (MRS and/or SRS) and aerial lift operation.
- Can prune trees following ISA Best Management Practices.
- Can assist the Tree Protection and Regulation Bylaw administration staff with routine site inspections and tree bylaw compliance investigations.
- You must have a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license (with air brake endorsement) with safe driving history.
- Must be able to successfully pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check**_._**:

- The following certifications are considered assets:

- Traffic Control Person (TCP) Training;
- Utility Specialist certification;
- Completion of additional post-secondary education in arboriculture, landscape technology or related field;
- ITA Climbing Arborist or Arborist Technician certification; and
- Valid BC Pesticide Applicator’s License.
