Audio Visual Technician

Summary

Reports to the Manager - Information Technology Services and works under the direction of the Audio Visual Foreperson. Performs installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrading of District electronic systems.

**Qualifications**:
Successful completion of a Secondary school graduation program or equivalent.

Completion of a post-secondary technical diploma or certificate in a recognized computer/electronics program equivalent to 2 years such as Electrical Trades ticket, Security Systems Technician, Electronics Technician or Telecommunications System Technician.

Minimum 5 years recent experience in the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.

**Experience supporting the following technologies is desired**: Security systems, building access controls, telephone systems, public address systems, data cabling.

Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to use judgement and tact when providing information.

Ability to work independently, to make decisions and to take initiative.

Valid B.C. Driver’s license. Safe driving record.

Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.

Current and thorough knowledge of related standards, practices, regulations, codes, and methods.

Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations, Safe work practices.
