**JOB SUMMARY**:
Under the direction of the Mechanic Foreman, this individual will aid in the daily operations of the business regarding the Shop from cleaning equipment to collecting and receiving parts and other duties as assigned by the Foreman. For the right individual there is the possibility of career advancement and becoming an apprentice.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Performs safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, grease jobs, basic maintenance and minor repairs as directed.
- Works alongside an assigned technician to learn to perform quality vehicle service maintenance and repairs.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Replenishes supplies as requested by technicians or service manager.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Clean up of worksites and maintain cleanliness in transport facilities.
- Wash heavy trucks and trailers as required.
- Handles dangerous goods and hazardous products according to established procedures.
- Participates in building and equipment safety and supply checks.
- Completes other tasks assigned by the manager or shop foreman.
- Significant experience working in a mechanical shop.
- Must be able to operate company vehicles.
- Have the ability to read labels and adhere to safety warnings.
- Able to receive, understand and follow instructions and communicate with manager.

**EMPLOYMENT REQUIRMENTS**:
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:

- Must be able to lift a minimum of 55 lbs pounds routinely.
- Must be comfortable operating/learn how to drive a forklift.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and participate in highly active physical duties.
- Must be able to operate company vehicles.
- Requires walking on varying surfaces, including hazardous and slippery conditions throughout the day. Ability to deal with varying levels of heights and small spaces. This position has contact with various fluids and materials and all personnel filling this position must be comfortable in their knowledge of all materials and comfortable working with them.

Completion of Secondary School is an asset.

A valid driver’s Licence is required.
