_**Social Worker/Mental Health Worker**_

Prairie Sky School is a Kindergarten to Grade 8 elementary school located on Treaty 4 Territory in Regina, Saskatchewan. We are a Qualified Independent School (QIS), teaching the Saskatchewan curriculum through a specific focus on Arts, Community and Nature: lessons are taught through an Arts lens, carried out in Nature (as much as possible), and we seek to build our local Community.

We are hiring a Social Worker/Mental Health Professional to help design, organise and implement a _Strengthening Community Capacity to Support Mental Health and Wellbeing ~ COVID-19 Mental Health Support Program. _This program is funded through a Canadian Red Cross Grant and is a temporary position with varying hours over a 12 month period.

**Program Goals**:

- Improve students' mental health and wellbeing;
- Improve students' social connectedness and belonging;
- Increase students' access to safe and relevant community resources;
- Strengthen community partnerships;
- Address barriers to accessing community supports;
- Increase family communication and improve relationships;
- Build increased capacity for Prairie Sky School to identify youth at risk of mental health challenges.
- Experience building relationships with elementary students in large group instructional settings as well as individual and small-group mentoring settings;
- Experience working in collaboration with Educators and other professionals;
- Understanding of Trauma-Informed/Sensitive Practices in Education;
- A willingness to facilitate this sacred experience with the guidance of Indigenous support people;
- A Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent counseling degree/certification and minimum of three to five years of experience;
- Ability to provide individual, family and group therapy;
- Experience working with high-risk children and adolescents;
- Ability to provide interventions to children and youth such as counselling, crisis management and coping strategies;
- Experience recording and reporting data/outcomes.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $35.00-$50.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
