Volunteer Coordinator

**Volunteer Coordinator - Unpaid Volunteer Position**
Village Theatre Waterdown (VTW) has an opening on its volunteer executive team for Volunteer Coordinator**. **We are looking for someone who has a passion for theatre and an interest in sharing their expertise to fulfill the goals of a charitable community theatre serving Greater Hamilton for over 50 years.
VTW produces a minimum of two high quality theatrical experiences and additional community events each year - engaging over 100 volunteer artists and program supporters.
The volunteer executive team meets monthly and all members are supported by a knowledgeable team led by the executive chair. Monthly time commitment, including meetings is approximately 5-7 hours per month. There are 10 official meetings per year and additional focussed meetings when required. VTW requires a term commitment of two years which is renewable.
Members of the executive team are welcome to participate in VTW productions.
**Role requirements**:
- Work with the executive and production teams to identify and fill volunteer roles
- Review, update and implement processes for recruitment, orientation and recognition of volunteers
- Utilize free volunteer centre sites for recruitment and professional development opportunities.
- Support ongoing evaluation of volunteer program - utilizing surveys, newsletters etc
- Maintain master volunteer/membership list and update regularly
- Provide reference letters or LinkedIn recommendations to student/adult volunteers (upon request).
- Attend monthly meetings and AGM and prepare reports
- Support executive team by ensuring bylaws and policies are followed and kept up to date for role
- Lead training/orientation of role for succession planning
- Provide Vulnerable Sector Check if requested
- Follow all VTW policies and procedures
- Live or work in the Waterdown/Burlington/Dundas/Hamilton area

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Understanding of how volunteerism shapes and strengthens community
- Commitment to attend VTW events and participate in activities
