Doggie Daycare Attendant/grooming Assistant

We are looking for a full or part-time Doggie Daycare Attendant/Grooming Assistant. Must be able to work Tuesday to Saturdays, or a minimum of 3 days a week including Saturdays. Must have at least one-year experience working with dogs and be comfortable handling pets of all sizes and breeds.
- Supervise the play and behaviour of dogs in our daycare
- Walk multiple dogs on group walks
- Understand various dog breeds and behaviours
- Provide basic obedience training using positive reinforcement method and clicker training
- Provide stimulation by interacting with dogs using dog puzzles
- Clean and disinfect the daycare area as needed
- Bath and dry dogs and cats and prepare pets for grooming by doing nail trims, ear cleaning, brush-out, etc
- Clean and tidy grooming area and workstation
- Vacuum, mop, and disinfect sinks, tubs and facility on a daily basis
- Empty trash bins and discard garbage and recyclables
- Dog sitting overnight at owner's home

**Requirements**:

- Be at least 18 years of age or older
- High school graduate
- Be able to legally work in Canada (SIN # or work permits must be provided)
- Be flexible with working hours
- Having a drivers license is ideal
- Responsible, honest and reliable
- Enthusiastic
- Willing to work in a team or individually
- Willing to learn new things
- Calm and assertive around dogs and people
- Have good verbal and written communication skills
- Dog training experience

**Salary & Benefits**:

- Hourly: $17 per hour
- Employees are entitled to exclusive discounts on all retail purchases and services including complimentary daycare for your own pets (some restrictions apply)
- Benefits are given after probationary period is over and available to full time staff after 1 year of service
