Our Specialized Aide will be a dynamic and energetic individual who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment with families, children, and peers alike. This position provides an opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team as well as have the privilege of helping families build their capacities.

**Job responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Working one-on-one with the family of a child who has special needs in their home and community (Stettler Alberta)
- Modelling tools and strategies for parents to support their child;
- Creating and adapting materials to assist parents in programming;
- Taking direction from team members;
- Establishing close rapport with families and team members;
- Liaising closely with parents, external team members, and internal team members;
- Responding in a timely manner to families and team members;
- Focus on creating and building structure and routines in the home
- Experience working with children with complex behavioral and regulation needs
- Supporting family stabilization
- Have the ability to work independently and take initiative for your own work

**Minimum Job Requirements**:

- Experience working with children with complex needs is an assest.
- Education and/or experience in early childhood development an asset.
- Must have own vehicle & be willing to drive to and from clients home.
- Must have up-to-date First Aide & CPR Certificate.
- Must have current Criminal/Vulnerable Person check.
- Must be able to physically lift 50lbs, play and assist with toileting needs (if needed)

**Other skills and job requirements**:

- Aptitude for technology;
- Strong work ethic - on time and attend all shifts;
- Developed time management and organization skills;
- Ability to problem solve and think critically;
- Strong English in both spoken and written form;
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and articulate information to families and staff;
- Maintains a high level of professionalism at all times.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 8 per week

**Salary**: $20.00-$23.00 per hour

**Benefits**:

Schedule:

- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- working with children with disabilities: 2 years (preferred)
- Early childhood education: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- CPR Certification (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Driving Licence (required)
- Police & Child Intervention Check (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 100% (required)

Work Location: In person
