**Required Qualifications**:
Required Qualifications: A Journeyman certificate is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Formal Education: Grade 12 or equivalent, required. Journeyman Cook Certification, required. Experience: Minimum two [2] years of recent institutional food service experience, large quantity cooking experience, required. Will consider a recognized equivalent, or demonstrated recent and related experience. Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, required. Basic knowledge of regular and special diets, required. Basic computer skills, required. Strong interpersonal skills and training in customer relations. Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow directions and guidelines. High standards for cleanliness and sanitation. High levels of honesty and integrity. License(s)/Certificate(s): Food Handler’s Certificate, required. Ability to lift 20 pounds (9 kg) above shoulder height, required. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds (27.2kg), required.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
WHMIS certificate, desired. Customer Service coursework, desired. Professional Technical Designation: Red Seal Journeyman Cook, desired. A yearly flu shot is strongly recommended.
