We seek a Production Product Leader to join our heavy fabrication and machining team at Valco Manufacturing Inc.

Position Summary

To facilitate the planning and scheduling function as it relates to the safe, economic, and effective use of floor space, manufacturing processes and resources, and human resources. To support delivery commitments to our customers, for both work in process and forecasted work activity in production fabrication and machining.

What you’ll get to do
Provide technical support and services, to plan, estimate, schedule, monitor, and continuously improve production job performance
Develop a system that continuously improves and increases the productivity of the operation through the effective utilization of floor space, equipment, and human resources
Analyze work activity and recommend and implement standards for work methods, safety measures, and labour organization, in conjunction with other responsible department leaders, for improving human resource efficiency and utilization as part of the continuous improvement and waste reduction processes
Compile operational and experimental data on production jobs, to assist in the development of estimates, schedules, specifications, and reports
Develop, prepare, maintain and distribute critical path timing charts to the Plant Leadership Team
Inform all involved team members of delivery schedules, using written documentation such as Gantt charts, progress reports, etc.
Along with the Plant Leadership Team, facilitate the implementation of plans and recommendations
What you bring
A completed post-secondary education in technical or engineering studies, preferably in Industrial Engineering or a similar related field, or equivalent and demonstrated work experience
5 years of industrial engineering, planning, or scheduling experience within a production manufacturing environment; experience in a fabrication and welding workplace preferred
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
The ability to work with others in a team atmosphere, working in cross-functional teams
Ability to give clear project leadership and direction
