**Position Overview**
The City of Kamloops is recruiting for a Planner I to join our Planning & Development Department, either in development/current or long-range planning This position requires a well-organized, resourceful, and motivated individual with strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills. - Completion of a university degree in Urban Planning or a related discipline, such as geography, sociology, urban development, sustainable development, etc.
- Ability to acquire full membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners within five years of employment.
- Minimum of one year’s experience as a planner in a municipal or private sector environment, including previous experience in both a technical and analytical planning role.
- Valid BC Driver's Licence - Class 5.

**Hourly Rate**
$48.51

**Hours & Days of Work**
Monday - Friday:
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (summer)
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (winter)

**Hours Per Week**
35
