The Leader, Quality Improvement leads the development of complex initiatives and drive systemic change to improve patient care outcome, and supports TSBC and partners in the development, integration, implementation and evaluation of clinical improvements. The Leader facilitates the identification of solutions to address clinical needs, manages compliance with organization goals and objectives. The Leader builds and strengthens partnerships with multiple stakeholders to ensure that the clinical system solutions can be implemented effectively. The Leader ensures the deliverables are completed on time and on budget. The Leader leads and coordinates project activities including financial responsibility for assigned initiatives and management of resources as deemed necessary to meet the program deliverables. The Leader cultivates and manages key stakeholder relationships; utilizes and applies project management principles and professional expertise to lead complex, multi-organizational initiatives; and provides leadership, advice and guidance on trauma system improvement initiatives. The Leader provides leadership, guidance and support to their team, contractors and stakeholders.

**What you’ll do**

- Leads and/or coordinates the evidence-based planning and design of complex, strategic initiatives. Establishes detailed project charter, plans and objectives to outline timelines and project deliverables. Executes project plan according to project methodologies, ensures successful and coordinated completion of project components, facilitates consensus with stakeholders as needed and ensures readiness for project implementation.
- Tracks progress according to plans for TSBC initiatives and identified metrics. Monitors and reports on the status of initiatives and major barriers encountered. Makes decisions and recommendations regarding projects scope and related changes required to facilitate a successful outcome. Implements or contributes to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk throughout the virtual health lifecycle.
- Develops and monitors implementation budgets within the context of strategic projects and uses best practice methods to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets. Responsibilities include reporting variance, planning and adjusting resources meet project targets,
- Identifies and manages key stakeholder relationships across multiple organizations. Collaborates with key support areas and stakeholders including the regional health authorities across BC. Negotiates/facilitates resolution of any impediments to progress and success with these stakeholders.
- Liaises with organizations, agencies and the communities to identify and document deliverables including issue discussion and resolution, in support of efficient and effective execution of the initiatives.
- Leads multiple change initiatives through planning, implementation, integration, evaluation and ongoing monitoring; provides skilled leadership throughout each step in the process
- Supports the evaluation systems and processes and makes recommendations for required system changes to improve quality and patient safety outcomes and applies best practice principles in supporting the redesign of systems.
- Utilizes systems analysis methodology to support continuous quality improvement through prospective program development in alignment with TSBC strategic priorities.
- Supports key provincial quality initiatives related to patient safety, while using knowledge in total quality management and quality systems design.
- Provides management supervision, leadership and guidance to team members which includes policy analyst and project coordinator by establishing priorities, directing work, assessing performance, motivating and coaching. Oversees contracts and contractors, ensuring accountability for contracted outcomes.

**What you bring**

**Qualifications**:

- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or other healthcare profession, plus a minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management and facilitating QI activities with a wide range of stakeholder groups, and experience within a large complex health system, or a combination of comparable clinical education and / or experience.
