Vipond Inc. is looking for a Fire Alarm Technician. The qualified Technician should be outgoing; highly self-motivated and must be able to problem solve. He/she will have strong communication skills and a professional image. This person must be able to handle all aspects of a project from install to programming, strong troubleshooting skills, service work and testing and inspections.

**Responsibilities**:

- Complete monthly & annual fire alarm inspections in accordance with CAN/ULC-S536.
- Complete fire alarm verifications in accordance with CAN/ULC-S537.
- Complete monthly & annual emergency lighting inspections.
- Complete monthly & annual fire extinguisher inspections. **(training provided)**:

- Complete monthly & gas detection system inspections. **(training provided)**:

- Complete associated reports and documentation in an organized and timely manner.
- Identify and recommend appropriate repairs for deficiencies found on inspections in accordance with CAN/ULC-S536 and local and provincial bylaws and codes.
- Attend service calls to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues with fire alarm systems.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, contractors, and end-users.

**Education/Certification Requirements**
- Valid Manitoba CFAA certification or qualifications to obtain one immediately.
- Valid Manitoba Class M Electrical License or qualifications to obtain one immediately.
- Valid City of Winnipeg Fire Department License or qualifications to obtain one immediately.
- Valid Manitoba Driver’s License.
- Minimum 1-year experience in the electronics/fire alarm service industry.

**Other Requirements**
- Experience using basic hand tools and electronics tools (e.g. multimeter.)
- Experience with basic computer use and common programs such as Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Apple iOS products (iPhone, iPad.)
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to work at heights (incl. ladders and elevated platforms.)
- Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g. crawlspaces.)
- Ability to occasionally travel within the province of Manitoba/N.W. Ontario

**Compensation**
- Hourly rate with overtime and double time rates.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Alarm Technician: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
