**Full Job Description**

Purple House Services is the first of its kind within the Kawartha Lakes. Offering a secured Home-style setting to support those living with the diagnosis of Dementia.

Under the direction and supervision of the Care Manager and Management Team, the P.S.W. shall provide direct basic personal and nursing care in accordance with The Retirement Homes Act and its regulations. They demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support all aspect of Purple House Service. Whether working with the external care program or caring for Residents within the ‘home-style’ environment at Bob’s Place, the P.S.W is there to support of those living with Dementia optimize their level of functioning physically, emotionally, socially, culturally, intellectually and spiritually. ADL’s and IADL’s as required along with participating and assisting with daily programming.

Current PSW certification
- Able to accept verbal and/or written direction, preform delegated tasks
- Able to cope with physical and emotional demands of the job
- Good interpersonal, communication & time-management skills
- Able to read and write and use technology in the English language is a must
- Prior experience with Dementia an asset
- Medication administration course - Pharmacology Certificate for PSW’s an asset, but not required, but willingness to learn.
- Self-actualization by helping residents to reach their maximum potential
- G.P.A certification an asset
- Able to report and document behavioural and clinical changes with accuracy, following the care plan, observing, and reporting any substantial findings
- Positive attitude and respectful work environment
- Be willing to go above and beyond for the residents without being asked - resident centred care
- Valid driver’s licence
- To uphold and promote the company’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics and integrity of Purple House Services.
- Adheres to confidentiality policies
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support, First Aid Certification
- (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)_

There are full time and part time permanent positions available with shift work. Starting rate of pay will be based on experience and certifications with terms and conditions of employment.

Additional hours available through call-in procedure.

We offer paid training and education. Casual dress with company provided shirts. Staffing ratio of 1 PSW to 3 residents is the desired target of care. On-site parking. Positive working environment with a smaller more intimate home like team setting. A fully integrated approach with the residents being the key focus. Extended Health Care Benefits are provided

Schedules include but are not limited to:

- 12 hour shifts, multiple shifts/times based on need
- Day shift
- Night shift
- Weekends
- Holidays

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
