**Job Summary**:
The Junior Buyer provides procurement services necessary to ensure timely delivery of goods to the Fleet and is involved in the entire Procure to Pay (P2P) process from Quote to Purchase Order issuance including expediting and other related functions as required within established company policies, procedures, and established ethical standards. This is an 18-month contract.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supports Fleet Operations in obtaining quotations as required to ensure cost effective purchasing processes with consideration to cost, quality and delivery capabilities of the supplier.
- Processes requisitions for consumables, spare parts and equipment for approval.
- Processes approved requisitions into purchase orders ensuring timely delivery to fleet for vessels assigned.
- Expedites overdue deliveries and arranges returns or credits for damaged, defective or incorrectly supplied goods.
- Ensures pricing updates in purchasing data management system remains current.
- Resolves account payable issues and concerns in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Identifies and participates in profit improvement projects.
- Builds and maintain supplier relationships.
- Always conducts business with high ethical standards.
- Supports Buyers and other members within the department.

**Skills, Abilities and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business, Purchasing/Procurement, Contract Management, Maritime or another related field.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management is an asset.
- Marine experience is an asset.
- 0-2 years’ related experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent organization, planning and prioritization skills.
- Able to create and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated, able to work in a team environment and balance the needs of a number of individuals and the team.
- Capable of identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.
- No travel restrictions.
