**What you’ll do**

The Non-Merchandise Strategic Sourcing Category Manager is a strategic, analytical, and critical thinker who is experienced in developing and executing end-to-end category strategies and overseeing multiple sourcing projects while providing guidance, leadership and direction, as well as coaching and mentoring, to others in a fast-paced, goal oriented environment. They are responsible for identifying, analyzing, and executing sourcing strategies and initiatives for a wide assortment of indirect spend categories across Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC). These categories include supply chain, real estate, marketing, IT hardware / software / SaaS / services, human resources, contingent labour, professional services, retail supplies (not for resale), administrative supplies, and travel. As part of our leadership team, they possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate their ability to build and motivate high-performance teams who consistently deliver on their commitments and drive results. As an escalation point for difficult negotiations and contract disputes, they are an attentive and active listener who has high emotional intelligence and emotional control that allows them to be both empathetic and assertive while having the ability to demonstrate they understand all points of view and persuading others to a solution.
- Review, analyze and understand category activity and demand, as well as category challenges and opportunities in collaboration with internal category stakeholders.
- Develop, define, and select sourcing strategies and contract vehicles for meeting the needs of the category and achieving stakeholder’s business requirements, scope of work, and budget while effectively capturing spend and savings.
- Facilitate consensus among internal stakeholders across multiple business units at various points in the execution of the sourcing strategy and contracting process.
- Drive sourcing best practices, process compliance, and enterprise value through cross-functional influential engagement including business teams, stakeholders, legal, and IT, amongst others while coaching internal stakeholders to increase their own understanding of and compliance with procurement and related policies, directives and responsibilities.
- Conducts market research and analysis, benchmarking, and landscape review to identify threats and/or opportunities that impact sourcing with a goal of balancing cost, organizational requirements, and stakeholder satisfaction while still meeting corporative objectives and targets.
- Oversee and manage the execution of sourcing strategies such as RFx processes, one-off bids and sole-sourced/direct negotiations, conceiving, researching, structuring, and managing the process from needs definition, RFx document drafting and RFx event management through bid analysis, bid negotiations, vendor selection, award issuance and contracting.
- Lead negotiations and establish contracts with suppliers based on thorough knowledge of the supplies or services being procured and ensure that financial, legal, and reputational risks are assessed and mitigated.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders during and after sourcing events.
- Identify and/or support business unit initiatives that will result in cost savings, supply/service standardization, and best value for the category being managed.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to produce regular communication and reports on results achieved relative to savings plans and proactively adjust strategy as required.
- Counsel stakeholders on contract content and act as an advisor to resolving contract disputes.
- Identify potential supply risks while developing and executing strategies to mitigate.
- Report on completion of category cost savings and other key performance indicators
- Support end-to-end P2P process by ensuring contract management and purchases are managed through the Corporate Procure-to-Pay system (Coupa).

**What You Bring**
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or business-related discipline
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a procurement capacity involving strategic sourcing, contract drafting and negotiation, competitive price analysis, supplier relationship and performance management.
- Deep experience (in a sourcing and procurement capacity) in one or more specific spend categories, such as Travel, IT, Marketing, Supply Chain or Professional Services, would be an asset.
- Proven success strategizing and running multi-million dollar and/or complex sourcing events, such as RFI-RFP combinations, reverse auctions, direct negotiations with monopolies, or transitioning between in-, out

- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to build effective relationships, collaborate with, and influence a diverse group of professional, technical, clerical, and service personnel and elicit support to drive ongoing cost reductions.
