**BI Development**:

- Understand business strategy, objectives and processes that will be enabled and/or enhanced by an analytics solution
- Drive dashboarding best practices and adoption amongst internal and external stakeholders
- Being able to effectively communicate insights through data visualization and storytelling.

**Data Analysis and Modelling**:

- Retrieve and analyse data across SQL servers, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Excel/CSV, and other data management systems
- Conduct data analysis to ensure business requirements are supported by source system data availability
- Understand the data ecosystem of varying industries, acting as a data architect to assist in decision-making processes while gaining an understanding of the organization's existing data infrastructure, such as their data warehouses, data lakes, and the overall data flow.
- Based on the business data flow, define, build and maintain data models leveraging industry best practices; enabling self-serve analytics across large organizations

**General**:

- Research, explore, and recommend the best in class tools and technologies that will drive the performance for our clients and our company
- Assist in training and mentoring of junior employees interested in growing within this area of expertise.

**What you will need to succeed:**:Must Haves**:

- 5+ years experience in a business intelligence development role using platforms such as Looker, Power BI, Tableau
- 5+ years experience in data modelling design leveraging different methodologies and best practices (such as Kimball and Inmon)
- 5+ years experience in data analysis usings programming languages such as sql, python, and R. Recent experience must showcase a high proficiency in scripting for data manipulation, automation, and building custom data connectors for complex data sources.
- 3+ years working in a consulting type role
- Demonstrated experience and interest in the topics of data, cloud, or advanced analytics for business enablement.
- Experience with Cloud platforms such as GCP and Data Warehouses like BigQuery.
- Structured problem-solving skills and logical thinking, as well as ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
- Previously demonstrated ability to drive change within a business (e.g. Internal innovation projects, consulting projects)
- Able to work in highly flexible, fast paced environment; and,
- Passion for technology, business, customer experience, innovation, and digital solutions.

**Nice to Haves**:

- Experience using Looker and/or Looker Studio
- Experience using semantic data modelling tools
- BI Tool Certifications - Looker, Power BI, Tableau
- Experience with Big Data frameworks like Hadoop or Spark demonstrating an ability to handle large and complex datasets.
- Formal education/Degree in mathematics, statistics
- Experience in Advanced Analytics (ML and AI)
- An ability to troubleshoot complex data issues, identifying the root cause of data discrepancies, and design solutions to ensure data quality and integrity.
