**Job Summary**
- Reporting to the Supervisor - Operational Planning, the Storesperson 1 performs the duties essential to providing material supplies for FM Operations campus wide, while directing the daily activities of Stores staff.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepares, reviews, and expedites purchase requisitions for inventory replenishment utilizing FAMIS
- Purchases material utilizing procurement card for stock and non -stock purposes
- Monitors and adheres to daily and monthly procurement card spending limits and regulations
- Monitors and reviews requests for materials in FAMIS
- Prepares, reviews, adjusts and distributes weekly direct delivery reports for major vendor(s)
- Monitors and reviews inventory levels
- Communicates with vendors regarding orders, pricing, and deliveries, etc.
- Communicates daily with FM Finance and the University’s Purchasing Dept. regarding invoices, purchase change orders etc.
- Participates in the development, implementation and utilization of pricing agreements
- Back fills Central Stores Supervisor position as required during brief absences
- Back fills Storesperson(s) 2 position when necessary (excluding vehicle operation)
- Directs the activity of Storesperson(s) 2
- Participates in the evaluations of probationary employees
- Ensures material receipt documentation is completed accurately and in a timely fashion
- Ensures stock room is maintained in a clean, orderly, and safe condition
- Ensures that stock is labelled correctly and properly stored
- Participates in cycle and annual inventory counts, and Stores safety audits
- Maintains a current material catalog database in FAMIS
- Maintains material safety data sheets
- Prioritizes and coordinates Stores trucking pick-up and delivery of materials
- Issues and returns stock utilizing FAMIS
- Coordinates cleaning, repairs and replacement of tools and radios and reports misuse
- Maintains an up-to-date list of obsolete and on hand specialty items
- Arranges for rental of equipment
- Reports vendor problems to supervisor
- Maintains a clean, safe work environment
- Performs all duties in accordance with the current Nova Scotia Occupational Health & Safety Act, as well as University and Government rules and regulations
- Performs other duties as required

**Note**
- Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.

**Required Qualifications**
- Minimum of 5 years recent and related industrial/institutional material warehousing with inventory control experience, along with a diverse product knowledge of building construction materials
- Minimum grade 12 education
- Proficiency in use of microcomputers, MS Office, Word, Excel, and particularly Inventory Control Systems
- Experience in the development and utilization of pricing agreements
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, initiative and ability to work effectively with mínimal supervision
- Knowledgeable and able to carry out the duties of his/her supervisor during brief absences
- Proven ability to direct others in a foreperson capacity
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Building Technology studies and experience an asset
- Familiar with the current Nova Scotia Occupational Health & Safety Act, as well as University and Government rules and regulations
- Must be willing and able to work overtime, as required
- Reliable and punctual
- General safety, and WHMIS training an asset
