Gasfitter Instructor

Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver high-quality instruction in alignment with the accredited training program curricula for Gasfitting Level 1.
- Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and support students in achieving their learning outcomes.
- Maintain current knowledge of the gasfitting industry, including best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory standards such as the Manitoba Gas Code.
- Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to ensure program content reflects current industry needs and standards.
- Engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching expertise and remain current in the gasfitting trade.

Qualifications:

- Hold a valid journeyperson certificate in the Gasfitting trade.
- Completion of, or enrolment in, a provincially recognised teaching certificate program, such as Teaching for Learning in Applied Education (TFL), formerly known as the Certificate in Adult Education, or Technical Vocational Teacher Education.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to creating a supportive and effective learning environment.
- A passion for teaching and mentoring students, with a focus on adult education.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous teaching experience in a technical or vocational setting.
- Familiarity with digital teaching tools and online learning platforms.
- Experience in developing curriculum materials for vocational and/or trades training.
