**Position Title**
- Marketing Strategist**Position Summary**
- Red Deer Polytechnic is looking for an individual with a passion for strategic marketing and creativity to join the Strategic Communications and Marketing team. We strive to provide our stakeholders with innovative marketing and communications strategies that are consistent with Red Deer Polytechnic’s overall brand image and connect with our institution’s diverse audiences.- The Marketing Strategist will report to the Marketing Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing strategies and tactics to support the entire Polytechnic (with an assigned portfolio of programs, Schools and service departments) in a competitive post-secondary marketplace. A successful incumbent in this position will develop and implement marketing communications strategies that will deliver business results.**Position Responsibilities**
- Advise requesting departments by developing internal and external marketing and communication strategies that support their business needs and the overall strategic direction of the Polytechnic.
- Develop marketing plans, using an integrated approach of traditional and online media, that supports enrollment management for all Polytechnic programs and departments.
- Assist requesting departments by developing tactics, print advertising, online advertising, and electronic media (e.g., video), and collateral materials (including design, print and distribution), required for various internal and external audiences, while meeting marketing and communications strategies.
- Work closely with Communications Strategists to ensure consistent and optimal online presence.
- Work closely with the Communications Strategist - Website to assist with SEO and SEM related to online advertising.
- Manage working relationships with internal service providers (e.g., Print Centre) and external vendors (eg. printers, photographers, and media sales representatives) to ensure marketing and communications tactics are implemented effectively and in a timely fashion.
- Work closely with Graphic Design Specialists to translate business needs of requesting departments into creative solutions, using brainstorming and creative briefs.
- Place all online media advertising (e.g., Google, Facebook, Twitter & Instagram, You Tube, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Spotify) for requesting departments and monitor effectiveness; change/update messaging as needed to ensure audiences respond.
- Research emerging media, new trends and best practices to ensure that requesting departments connect most effectively with identified internal and external audiences.
- Use best practices to develop tools and methods to measure success and ROI of marketing and communications initiatives.

**Required Qualifications**
- Diploma in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Minimum two years of related experience
- Strong project management skills gained from experience managing multiple projects; ability to influence and educate colleagues regarding best practices in marketing
- Demonstrated communication, analytical and problem solving skills and an ability to work with a variety of people, both internally and externally
- Ability to translate business needs, creating and implementing effective marketing strategy into creative solutions
- Relevant practical experience creating effective advertising, using integrated marketing plans (both online and traditional mediums)
- Ability to write a Business Marketing Brief and a Creative Brief
- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
- Excellent team skills
- Experience with graphic production and colour print process
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with a working knowledge of PhotoShop and InDesign (or similar software)

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Communications and Advertising Accredited Professional (CAAP) Designation and/or Accredited in Public Relations (APR)
