**HOURS**:7.0 hours per day

Under the direction of the school administrator, the Community Liaison Worker assists in facilitating parental
involvement in the students’ school life, encourages and promotes increased communication between home and
school, develops school-community programming and celebrations to build parent involvent with the school, and
coordinates increased services to students by accessing local community resources and working collaboratively
with other service agencies.
**REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: -**
completion of related area of post-secondary education required
- First Aid and CPR training completed within the probationary period (90 working days)
- experience working in a public education setting is preferred
- previous experience working with Indigenous communities, families, and students
- experience and understanding of cross-cultural and Indigenous issues and perspectives
- knowledge of traditional Indigenous teachings
- an understanding and appreciation of variety of cultures
- previous experience working with and supporting Newcomer families and students
- ability to transport student/family for access to community supports
- experience working with community groups, government and non-profit agencies and organizations
- knowledge of community and available resource organizations
- excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- ability to work independently and collaboratively with the school team
- strong organizational skills
- ability to be responsive to the immediate school community needs
- ability to source and write funding grants
- ability to budget, shop, and prepare nutritious breakfasts and snacks to student population daily
- valid Manitoba Driver’s licence, driver’s abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle are required
