**Work schedule**: Typically Monday - Frida, 8am to 5pm. But does require rotational weekends, overtime and also on call as needed to support operational and seasonal demands.

**Remuneration**: $60,000 + comprehensive benefits.

Cataraqui Cemetery is a historic and revered 90+ acre garden cemetery located in Kingston, Ontario. As a not for profit corporation, we are dedicated to providing a serene and beautiful final resting place for the community, offering a range of cemetery services, funeral services, and cremation services with a focus on professionalism, care, respect, and heritage conservation

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Operations Manager to lead our Grounds and Horticulture department. The Field Operations Manager will be a fill time employee and responsible for overseeing the maintenance and care of our cemetery grounds and field operations, physical assets/equipment, and outdoor grounds. This full-time position requires a performance-driven individual who can effectively communicate company and departmental tasks, schedules, and expectations to a team of subordinate personnel. The Filed Operations Manager report to and is responsible to the corporation's General Manager. The GM, our Funeral and Client Service s Manager and our Field Operations Manager, form the cemetery's management team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage, organize, and supervise the grounds and horticulture department to ensure the timely completion of operational requirements and duties with a high degree of care, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Recruit, hire, schedule, train, coach, mentor, and evaluate department personnel.
- Maintain and care for company and department assets, including equipment, vehicles, hand tools, buildings, and physical features.
- Review, improve, and develop documented company and departmental methods, best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure the timely delivery of cemetery and related interment services, including preparing sites for interment, ongoing care & maintenance of interment sites and cemetery features, and installing/restoring monuments and markers.
- Daily maintenance and presentation of the cemetery's historic and heritage designated grounds and landscaped features.
- Collaborate with other company departments, managers and staff to ensure the delivery of services while maintaining the highest commitment to client care.
- Manage departmental budget, expenses, and profitability.

- Strong knowledge and dedication to time management and scheduling.
- Attention to detail and pride in all tasks.
- Proactive problem-solving ability.
- Physical ability to labor when needed to support staff or tasks.

**Experience**:

- Post secondary education or degree in a relevant trade or business administration.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or managing role of at least 5 staff and departmental responsibilities.
- Experience in managing company assets.
- Preferably 2-5 years of experience in cemetery operations and services or comparable experience in property maintenance, landscape maintenance, golf course maintenance, agriculture, or silviculture.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License (G class or better).
- Ability to pass a police background check and a Corrections Canada background check.
