Laboratory Operations Technician

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

- Manage incoming deliveries by verifying and signing for shipments, unloading, tracking, and storing the received items under appropriate temp storage conditions, and processing any returns.
- Inspect and verify material, labels and documents for completeness and accuracy. Obtain and organize all relevant Certificates of Analysis for incoming material.
- Prepare paperwork for all outbound and incoming material.
- Ensure organized storage at appropriate temperatures and notify end users.
- Maintain an organize chemical and reagent inventory along with up-to-date Safety Data Sheets.
- Assist with and perform general lab/equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Conduct Health & Safety Checklists and facility inspections in compliance with guidelines.
- Point of contact for all external service providers, including equipment maintenance, utilities, and waste management.
- Interact with and collaborate with all levels of staff and employees to successfully perform responsibilities and maintain an organized, safe and efficient work environment.
- Work under general supervision or oversight of their supervisor and follow clearly established procedures or practices.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Incumbent will work in a regulatory compliant biosafety level 2 laboratory and general office space.
- Potential hazards may include noise, temperature extremes, biohazards, and hazardous chemical products. Standard safety procedures are in place and personal protective devices must always be worn when working in the laboratory.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS/SKILLS**:

- College Diploma or B.Sc. in a scientific-related field
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
- 1-2 years of previous Laboratory work/management experience preferred
