As a Assistant Baker your purpose is to help the team buy following the recipes and producing quality product. You will be required for shifts on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. You are responsible for following all food safety protocols. Be a Dynamic team member that believes in our company values of collaboration, quality, local produce. This position has specific hours 6am -2:30pm There is the potential for other shifts as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- produce items on task lists as delegated by Lead Baker or Kitchen Manager/Supervisor
- follow recipes as specified, and record clarifications on recipe as needed
- properly and carefully operate kitchen equipment and machinery
- notify supervisor of low stock or changes in production/ingredients
- use ‘FIRST IN FIRST OUT’ method of stock rotation
- ensure inventory is stored properly (ie - off the floor and organized)
- record daily refrigeration and dishwasher temperatures, depending on shift
- ensure appropriate ingredient prep is completed before next day’s production
- general cleaning may include vacuuming ingredient bins, washing down equipment, washing and storing dishes
- maintain a tidy workspace, and ensure area is cleaned after tasks
- communicate positively and effectively with co-workers and management
- other reasonable duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: (outside Origin’s Employee Standards and Guidelines)
- comfortable with written and spoken English
- able to lift up to 25 kg without assistance
- effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- able to maintain good rapport with suppliers, customers and co-workers
- positive attitude and willingness to learn
- able to complete baking tasks required
- Food Safe certification

REPORTS TO: General Manager, Kitchen Manager/Supervisor, and/or owners

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.12-$19.24 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
