**JOB SUMMARY**:
Lantic is currently recruiting a Buyer based at our Montreal refinery, as a result of an internal promotion. The position reports to the Senior Corporate Buyer. The Buyer processes requests for goods and services, and purchase of chemicals to maintain operations at the Montreal refinery, as well as our Toronto DC facility. He/she monitors the stock of co-packaged finished products against the sales budget. He/she creates and analyzes reports to guide and support procurement strategies, all in accordance with Lantic policies, procedures and rules.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Process and support purchase requests in Maximo/Navision;
- Respond quickly and handle urgent calls and requests (e.g.: service, rental, etc.);
- Monitor the inventory of components available for co-packing production;
- Place orders for components and raw materials to enable “co-packing” production;
- Control the inventory of finished products (“Co-packing”) in relation to the sales budget;
- Plan “co-packing” production;
- Manage chemical inventory and place orders;
- Send tenders, analyze and challenge suppliers in order to reduce costs;
- Take on a negotiator role with all suppliers in order to minimize the risk for Lantic Inc.;
- Create, analyze and maintain different reports for procurement;
- Participate in the quarterly evaluation of the supplier scorecard;
- Manage non-conformities and maintain quality documentation for chemical products;
- Visit key supplier facilities.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:

- Bachelor’s degree in administration and/or certificate in supply chain management;
- Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in a purchasing position, preferably in the food and/or manufacturing field;
- Very good knowledge of purchasing and its technical aspects;
- Basic financial knowledge;
- Key knowledge of the maintenance parts market (plumbing, electrical systems, packaging, construction materials, etc.) and chemicals;
- Mastery of MS Office, Outlook, Maximo, Navision tools;
- Knowledge of and compliance with ISO, HACPP, FSSC22000;
- Good ability to manage priorities and stress;
- Autonomy, rigor, good sense of organization, responsibility and analysis;
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills;
- Result-driven and promotes teamwork;
- Knowledge of English/French to ensure proper communication with our English and French speaking sites, as well as with our various suppliers.
