We are looking for skilled Fiber Optic Splicers. Fiber Optic Splicers need to be involved in all aspects of OSP projects and be willing to work in various environments ranging from buried to aerial environments.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Install fiber optic cabling in OSP environments which may include conduit, cable tray, or underground duct systems.
- Prep various types of dielectric and non-dielectric fiber optic cabling.
- Splice tight buffer and loose tube fibers in both single fiber and ribbon configurations.
- Read construction blueprints, design packages and splicing designation sheets.
- Operate test equipment and analyze test results from OTDR’s and Power Meter’s
- Complete as-built/red-line and test reports
**Experience Requirements**:
- Minimum of 2 years of fiber optic field work
- Formal technical training considered an asset but not required.
- Experienced in OSP construction situations.
- We require a current 5-year drivers abstract
- Must be able to provide 3 years commercial insurance history or letter of experience if located out of province.
**Additional Requirements**:
Negotiable based on experience and skill level.
